Walking Tour Committee
What is the committee?
Are you passionate about showcasing Oakland’s neighborhoods? The Walking Tour Committee works to get people out to experience Oakland’s neighborhoods firsthand. We work with local tour leaders to show us around to learn more about their community and its stories.
Sponsor a Tour
Do you want one of OHA’s tours in your neighborhood? Do you want publicity for your local business? If one of the below options is appealing, contact us and sponsor a tour.
Bathroom Stops. We are always looking for break points on tours for folks to fill up on water and use the restroom. Provide an OHA tour use of your clean restroom and we can mention your business, provide information, or let you speak a few minutes about it during the tour.
Food Stops. Do you own a restaurant? If you provide a snack to our tour goers, we can stop by your restaurant to taste the food and to hear more about it to generate future business.
Fiscal Sponsorship. For $500, we will include your logo on our Walking Tour Handout, in our emails too, and we will mention you on the tour you sponsor. Sponsor all 16 tours for $5,000.
Volunteering
The committee is always looking for volunteers to help with various tasks. If one of these tasks suits you, please contact us!
Leaders. Do you know a lot about a neighborhood? Do you want to share your knowledge with people excited to listen? Let us know and we can bring in a crowd to celebrate the work you do.
Greeters. Do you like greeting members and checking them in to a tour? Join us and attend the tour free!
Loud Speaker Holder. We bring a loudspeaker to our tours for great sound, but we do need a volunteer to hold and manage the speaker. Join us, hold the speaker, and attend the tour free!
Photographers. Do you like the tech side of events? Contact us if you would like to assist in recording or editing the film of our live events.
How do connect with the committee?
